King of Torts has always been my favourite JG book. Partly due to the fact is not one of the most popular books and wasn't run through the movie mill, partly due to the structure of the tale as it has a clearly defined "beginning, middle and end" and partly because it shows not all his books have the typical Hollywood-esque happy ever after. While The King of Torts is probably a middle-of-the-road John Grisham novel, it is definitely worth checking out at some point in time. Even if you do not like the lead character--and you probably won't--it takes decent writing to pull off this type of character development.
